Mark A. Gilbert was born in Champaign, Illinois, on July 9, 1980. He completed his undergraduate education at Saint Louis University in 2003. Mark received his Juris Doctor Degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2007 and was a member of the Order of the Coif honor society. Prior to joining the law firm of Deatherage, Myers, and Lackey, he served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Thomas Russell, United States District Judge for the Western District of Kentucky.
Mark is a member of the Christian County Bar Association (past president), Kentucky Bar Association, and Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mark has represented clients in civil and criminal matters throughout western Kentucky, in both state and federal courts. He is an experienced appellate advocate, having represented numerous clients before the Court of Appeals of Kentucky, the Supreme Court of Kentucky, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Mark also has experience offering general legal advice to local businesses and governmental entities.
